Race day went rather wrong...

So I woke up with a stomach niggle (I've been having it on and off every now and again) on the day of my 5K race today. It soon went off and then I got on with my race. The race felt really hard even though I fuelled and hydrated properly. I then got home and then I came down with really severe abdominal pain. It was so painful that in the end I had to go to the hospital out-of-hours and see a doctor. They think that it may be developing appendicitis or a problem with my stomach.

So here I am in hospital waiting for a doctor to come back with blood test results. I think it's safe to say that I won't be running for the next few days...

Sorry that you have ended up in hospital, but I think you will be off running for a more than a few days, once you have got out and any health issues have been solved, you will have to rest for a few weeks, I just hope that you won't be off running for too long.

Oh no Redcello, that’s awful. I really hope it’s nothing serious. You’re in the right place. Rest up, get better and big hugs for a speedy recovery. 🤞🤞🤞❤️

So sorry Redcello. Just forget about running (hard I know!) and focus on recovery. I had an unscheduled admission earlier in the year; MRI and CT scan done in double quick time and sent home as fit as a fiddle! Our NHS is brilliant. Hope all is resolved quickly 🤗.

Oh my! Not the day you were expecting. Well done for taking action and getting yourself to the hospital to be checked out. Hopefully they'll have you sorted nice and fast. Take care, get well soon 😘

Sorry to hear that you’ve taken unwell. 😖

It might turn out ok though. It could be nothing serious. Fingers crossed ey 🤞.

You might be back on your feet later 💪😁👍

Okay so they think it is gastritis, they can't do.a scan today so they have sent me home with painkillers and I have to go back tomorrow for a scan.

So scan came back as normal so no gall stones which means no surgery yay! The dr still isn't sure what is causing the pain (he didn't want to expose me to the radiation of a ct scan because I'm young) so the next step is to have a camera put down into my stomach to see if they can find anything in roughly a few weeks time. If they can't find anything but I'm still having trouble then they are going to give me a ct scan. I am definitely not running for the rest of this week!
