So that was an interesting day...

So I ran 8.04K (5 miles) for the first time this morning to get my long run in, and also to clear my head and run off some nerves in preparation for my driving test that was happening in the afternoon! Run went well (but also felt very long at points...), had a driving lesson, got to the test centre and then my driving test was cancelled! There was a massive lorry causing gridlock around the test centre so no-one could get in or out so the examiners decided to cancel all the 14:42PM test slots, including mine! I now have to wait to take my test mid-January which is a bit frustrating but at least that gives me more time to practice! Well at least I got my long run in and that was the furthest I have ever run so far so not all has been lost today!

Well done on the run and as you say...more time to prepare for your test!

Well done on your run Redcello. Great idea to use it as a nerve settler. Now you will have to go through the same routine in January, but you will be running even farther by then, and so will be even more relaxed 😊

Good for you - 8K and a commendably philosophical view of Life’s Rich Pattern of Frustrating Events. 👍 Well done and best of luck when the test finally rolls round. Meanwhile enjoy your running! Who knows - you may scarcely need that car in the end. 🤣

I remember my first 5 mile run very well. Like you I was training towards a first HM and it amazed me so much that I could acheive it - a real landmark run, well done!
