Not needed tomorrow as Mum’s taxi service, so free to do Parkrun for the first time since August. Forgotten what it’s like! Usually I try to fit a run in, in between footy practice, shopping, and school work (me, not the kids) and getting dinner ready. Funny how the OH manages to go every week!
So 🤞the forecast gales don’t arrive and it’s cancelled. If so, I may have to watch the rugby! From behind a cushion! Waaaaaay too stressful!
Good luck to everyone racing, running, doing anything amazing this weekend, and extra good luck to The England Rugby boys in Japan! 🏉 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️

So did you do it, Katiepops? I volunteered and the weather was biblical!! But still, we had 160 runners show up, which is amazing considering the weather and the rugby! x
It was brutal, Linda! I was wet through to my undies and hands shaking with cold by the end, making barcode scanning tricky, to say the least! But lovely feeling getting in a hot bath with a cup of tea after. 👍
I got there, couldn’t see anyone. Nearly went home again but then caught a glimpse of some hi-vis. Our PR is a woodland hill trail, and gradually I became aware of small groups sheltering under the trees. They all appeared when Stu bellowed out for 1st timers and tourists. 68 of us on slippery chalk paths covered in mud and fallen leaves in the teeth of howling winds. Soaked, filthy and frozen. It was brilliant! Not the time for a PB though.🤣🤪💁♀️🏃♀️
Blooming well done! 👏👏👏 Running in those conditions make you feel like a super hero, right?! I was questioning everyone’s sanity halfway through, though. 😂😂😂
Oh boo! Just think, 2 weeks since we ran there in the sunshine for the GSR! British weather - no second guessing it!🙄🌧 🌞 💨 ❄️ (And that’s just an average day!)
The weather is—unusually—not too bad up here! They barely ever cancel our parkrun though. The only one I remember was during the Beast from the East, and even then people were still out in ice spikes 😅
Of course I went! Actually I had to as my 14 year old son was dragged out by his grandparents to go marshal it and cheer! I must admit I had second thoughts briefly as I got out of the car!
Usually I get a lift from the in-laws there, run it and then run home. But that’s 9 miles and I have a race tomorrow, so didn’t want to overdo it. Weather was not ideal!🤪🏃♀️
