I went for a gentle 5k taper yesterday and was planning a short jog tomorrow before GSR on Sunday. However, when I was walking the dog yesterday, I bumped into a couple of dog walkers and got chatting about running (as you do π) because Iβd seen her out for a run earlier in the week. I discovered that they have started a running group in our village - meet Monday and Thursday evenings at the church for approx 5k. Well, it was a nice evening, so I couldnβt resist. Only 3 of us and 5.4k at an average 6:18 (first k was 6:02 π³), which was 30 secs per km faster than yesterday. Good job I warmed up going from home to the church! Even then my new RB Genna kept stopping to wait for me and Ian π Itβll be good for me Iβm sure. Now for 2 rest days!

Awe that sounds great! Itβs nice to have running friends too ππ½ I love my club π
How great Sandie. That sounds like a nice village group. My tapering run was 15 minutes between torrential downpours. Enjoy those rest days. See you Saturday.
This running group sounds like itβll make you even faster Sandie! What fun. ππ
See you on Saturday. Iβm off for a tiny taper run tomorrow morning. π
How exciting! That will be fun to be part of a group enjoy your rest
All after a chance conversation! π

That sounds brilliant. Too fast for me though, I couldn't keep that pace up over 5k unless it was mostly downhill!
It was a bit fast but good to have a bit of a push!
I think thatβs what I need. I ought to try music too. I prefer the sounds of nature, but Iβve been told music helps you pick up pace. That will be Spencer Davis Keep On Running, on repeat, then π
You can find some army chants that help too That way you can imagine those men in uniform you used to see crossing the road
Reminds me of the beginning of An Officer and a Gentleman. They do slow run training too!
I'm trying to work my way up to that speed . Amazing x
That sounds great, I'm sure it will be a help to keep up the running over the dark evenings
How fortunate! Enjoy your new running group.
