Following Flick
Flick's doing great! est. 02:54:00!
Oh how exciting!! Go flick!!
Time isn't important, she's doing great
Too true; complete not compete! Go Flick!
I am following Flick on "Live Tracking " at 11.52 am she is 8.3 miles of 13.2 miles, she started at 0.9.47.39, her expected time is 13.06.38, that would give her a time of around 3 hours 20 minutes, as you say time isn't all that important, once she completes the run, we will all congratulate her and she will be very proud of herself.
I waved her off this morning. It was cold and wet but she was cool, calm and collected π. Well over half way now - go Flick!
Go Flick go, she is doing very well indeed, at 12.25pm she was at 10.5 miles
I'm not sure how accurate the tracker is. It was certainly well out in the early stages when I saw her. If you look at it I think it's showing a projection based on her average pace at the last checkpoint - the live distance showing is always based on a constant pace -either that or she is running as consistently as EK π. Not sure if there will be any checkpoints between 10k and the finish.
I was surprised of that 10K time of 1.33.55, I think her 10K time was nearer 1.20, one hour 20 minutes.
That's likely to be an accurate time I think - there is often a chip check part way round. I thought there might have been one at 5k and 15k too, but it doesn't look like it. It really was horrible in Oxford - pouring hard when I drove home. She was also deliberately trying to run slower to keep her HR under control so she wasn'tcream crackered before the finish. She's maybe running at a HM pace rather than a 10K pace ready for a sploshy sprint at the end π
Will she contact you when she finishes?
She said that she will contact everyone once she finishes or at least gets home, I sent her a private message this morning at 6.30 wishing all the best for her run.
Update at 12.51 she is now at 12.12miles, just a mile to go.
We didn't arrange that, but the app should update correctly when her chip crosses the finish line. I'm sure finding hubby, hopefully with warm dry clothes will be her first priority. π i have to confess there's a part of me that's rather glad I had to cancel - I'm not sure I would've enjoyed this weather and I'm very sure it would have made me slower than ever!
Is it windy there, Linda?
No, not overly windy. But it's flipping wet! Too wet for me to bother cycling round Oxford which had been my plan!
GO FLICK..EVERYBODY SHOUT !!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

How exciting. Canβt wait to read Flickβs account of this.
Yaaaaay! Well done Flick.
Just read this, too late to cheer her on of course - but flipping heck she did it! All that hideous HR training she was doing. Kudos to her. β€οΈ
Canβt wait to read her race report once sheβs recovered. π
She knew we were all there for her.. Hidden is a truly exceptional lady! Xx
Agree with you regarding that she is a exceptional lady, only you know Floss the way Flick is feeling right now after completing what was a very wet Half Marathon, that will bring memories back to you when you completed a HM on the Spring.
She certainly is. Well done Hidden ! πββοΈππ β€οΈ
Have you CC ever ran or are thinking on running a HM? they say if you can run a 10K, with a little more training, you can run a π€. HM
Yes Al, I ran HM distance about a month ago and Iβve entered the Bath Half in March. Very exciting! πββοΈπ
I was following her on "Live Tracking" when the tracker got to 13.2 miles I knew she had completed her run, it didn't say her time, however, I understand her finishing time was 3.26.09. π ππΎ
That live tracking was scary for a bit at the end. I was quite concerned for few minutes.
It's a great time though. Thanks for the pointers to race info, AlMorr .
Yes TOF, I know that you mentioned like me that 10K is the furtherest distance you wish to run, however, I have ran 3/10Ks, a slightly better time each run, at the end of the third run I wasn't really all that tired, however, going on to train for a HM would be a big step, I suppose the 1 Kilometre more a fortnight like I did from 5K to 10K I could try, that for a HM would take about 6 months, my biggest concern would be to get injured.
Well done Flick! Fabulous run!
Whoohoo! Congrats Flick πππππ. We knew you would do it π
I saw her start and finish but we didn't get to meet. One day..... Flick you looked amazing and your leggings are superb! That was how I spotted you lols. What a very wet, wet, wet day to run a half in. It wasn't even nice rain. It was just heavy and nonstop for a while. But you looked strong at the start and the end. Go Flick. ππββοΈπ₯°π₯³ xxx
So proud of Hidden ππ₯³π₯³
Amazing run Flick...you are a star!πxxx
Can't wait for the write-up
Lol! So this is what you were all up to when I was running πππ the knee gave up at about 13k and slowed me right down. Chip time 3.24. If the knee hadnβt swollen up, I think I would got a sub 3. I couldnβt walk on it when I stopped. Write up in a bit. Linda is a superstar! Whereβs my bloody badge!
Hahaha! Bl@@dy amazing Flick! You are an absolute superstar! Only just caught on to this thread but Iβve been thinking of you all day! You flippinβ did it! πππππ
Thank you. Yes, managed it swollen knee and all ππ
Sounds to me you deserve a BL@@DY GREAT BIG Badge. I hope we get photos of the Bling too.ππ·ππΊπ
