I'm into 'proper' Half marathon training this week.. I'm really excited about it π.. I haven't actually entered a half marathon before... So this is all new to me.
I'm going for 30km this week.. I'm also getting the diet sorted out, I'd like to lose 11 pound by October. A pound a week seems achievable/sensible That will put me in healthy BMI range... not that I'm bothered about BMI It just makes running easier... It's all about running now. π

I've also just pre-booked the Cambridge Half Marathon... Really want to do that, and I've just been sent an email from Virgin offering me a place in the Oxford Half Marathon.. ARGHHHHH! I have until 11pm to decide... It's an absolute nightmare to get to Oxford, I'd have to drive and It's Β£50 I think that's expensive.. ARGHHH But it's perfect for my training plan! DAMN YOU BRANSON!
didn't you get money off from having done your other virgin race? or something? I sent you the link but I can't remember what it was about - something about money off? maybe?
I get a discount on the London 10k race next year, you don't get a discount on this.. I don't think π€¨ well I looked at how much the ticket was and ends up being about Β£50, which isn't too bad, but the Cambridge HM is Β£35... I just don't understand why it's so much more? I'm weird like that.
Anyway I've decided I'm not doing it, I have something else planned now in the lake district, but I need to organise it with some friends.π
Did my longest ever run for my HM training (8miles). But total running for the week was 32km. Plus a walking weekend on the Ridgeway (semi checking out the Race to the Stones Route π) meant 18km walking.
Well done everyone ! ππ»ππ½ββοΈπββοΈππ½ββοΈ
Only 3 short runs last week - so 12.6k π.....have already surpassed that with my first run this week. Oh well, like you said, it's the thought that counts.....
I had two runs this afternoon a 400m and a 500m but it is recorded under a mis-spelt email address.πAt least I know the error and must try and delete this new erroneous account.π
20km running last week. I also walk 2km every workday (1km to the Metro to work and back) but don't record that. So 10km walking too if you want to add that also.
Most of my 2019 runs have been just joggy so far so I'll choose my PB paces from 2018. Please put 4:51 pace for 1km speed challenge. That fast 1km was the most recent best 1km I did back in Oct 2018 on a 5 km PB run which was 5:02 pace, so put that down as my 5k PB target pace too! Please also put me down for 6:06 pace for 10km (I did that PB 10k during my May Helsinki HM (yep stoopid I know π³)). I don't expect to knock much off those tbh but I have lost my distance mojo so will try to go shorter and faster for the rest of this season.
Hi! I will put these in if you want, but do have a quick read of the instructions - the first run of the challenge should produce the base pace for the rest of the runs, so you are trying to beat yourself at your current level of fitness π
Ah ok gotcha! My last run paces were 1km 5:33, 5km 5:52, 10km 6:31. A bit joggy though, so I feel like I'm cheating a bit as I wasn't trying to run fast on those runs!
Been on "staycation" this week. The distance includes a 14k walk from Monday which, after already overdoing it on Sunday, left me with legs that weren't happy! I therefore backed off on the running this week but still managed about 28.5k (two easy runs earlier in the week plus a longish run this morning). The remainder comes from wandering between various places offering refreshments and 19k on an exercise bike in the gym trying to ease my legs back into working order.
