Need motivation to get going for my half marathon in October got a 12 week training plan but just cant seem to get doing

What plan are you using? Post a link if there is one, and we can have a look.

What do think the problem is? What have you enjoyed about running in the past, that is missing from your training now?

If you are struggling with motivation, have a think about why you signed up for the half marathon in the first place - it really helps to remember your original motivation for doing something.

Should be? So you haven't really started it then, I suppose. That's fine, it happens!

Tell me, why do you want to do the half marathon?

Feel like I want to do it .it seemed a good idea at the time I know I will do it but cant seem to get started yet

If you can just get started, I think the momentum might carry you on. I’m certainly finding that with mine. It’s kind of nice to relinquish control and let the plan dictate what I do, for a change. Which half are you doing?

I quite liked having a plan after just running the same routes after a while. My momentum got going as I started to increase my distances, no more than 10%, but that buzz and sense of acheive I had from couch to 5k and then Jules plan to 10k came back as I started hitting 12k, 15k, 19k. I reached 19k on a random run where my plan was just to do a gentle 15k but some runs are just good and my confidence grew after that! What I do wish I had done was follow an actual training plan for my first half as well as try different gels for energy. It sounds as though the gremlins have got to you but two runs will put them to rest. October is close.... not too close but close enough to need to start training! Visualise the finish of your race and how you will feel. Then think how you will feel if you don't do it. Then get up and go if you still want that medal lol.
