3 weeks to go and my knee has gone AGAIN. Have I got time to recover? After my long run last Saturday ihad an extra days rest and felt my knee click on a slow 8K run. I gave it an extra day and only managed 5K this morning before I had to pull up. No way can I carry this through 13.1 miles. What the hell am I going to do????? HELP....

It's a really tough question. I've been going through the same thing. All I can say is take as much advice as possible. I've talked to the physio, coach and sports therapist.

The knee needs rest, usually, so you have to balance that against training, races and other running goals.

Really difficult, my sympathy.

I'm having a week off that's for sure. I've got exercises that the physio advised so I can do those. I'm not convinced I can run a HM though in 3 weeks time. I'll stay positive but.........

Uggghh. That's really rotten. You have to rest it. You have to keep your fingers crossed. And we'll all send healing vibes across the ether. It doesn't mean you're back to square one but so, so frustrating. Lots of sympathy from me too.

Thanks. I'll have a gentle run in a week or so and see how it feels. I wonder if I've built up enough fitness to rest until the day and take the run / walk approach. Needless to say I'm quite peed off but that's how it goes. If I think back to a year ago I wouldn't have even contemplated a HM so I suppose I can take a positive from that. And not forgetting that they'll be other events to run in. It's not the end of the world. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

There will indeed be other events, but if you're sensible now and your physio gives you the OK, this one might still work. Fingers crossed.
