My second of three 10k races this month - the Poppy 10k at Bexhill-on-Sea. I was looking forward to a nice flat run but it turned out to be quite hard work due to a chilly blast that had covered the lower promenade in shingle! Managed to complete the course without sliding into the sea! Happy that I got a new PB of 1 hour 3 minutes 48 seconds. I came 95th out of 200 females, which isn't bad for an old gal like me!

Well done MutleyShuffle on completing that 10K in a very good time of 1.3.48, you are not a old gal, you are young at heart ♥, think of it, you beat 105 people who were behind you, many of whom I think would be younger. 😊Good luck🤞 for third 10K

Well done. The loose shingles underfoot were worrying, but apparently quite usual for that event. One of the downsides of a November run along a promenade I suppose. Glad you enjoyed the run though, and a PB to boot!

Sorry to hear your pacing was all out. Mine wasn't great, I struggled towards the end - in fact I found the whole thing tough - just pleased I finished it!!

Congratulations on your fantastic 10k, brilliant time and delicious bling ! Medal very poignant ! Now tell me ........how do you manage to get a brilliant time like yours? Any advice from one old gal to another! By the way though I expect your younger than me too🤣🤣xx

Ha ha thank you Peggy! I'm 54 years young, I suspect you may be a couple of years older if your name is anything to go by! My times are slowly creeping down, just lots of practice I guess. Have joined a running club so one run a week is with them, one is Park Run and one is a long one on my own. I've regularly been doing a 10k run every week since I graduated Bridge to 10k in September. Hope that helps! 😊

Ha! Ha! You’ve guessed it ! Yes I’m 60🤪 and my name isn’t Peggy really. Although my name is Margaret I’ve always been called Maggie. However I think it’s a northern thing. ( Newcastle) all of my relatives or any one for that matter who were named Margaret were consequently called Peggy!

Anyway thanks for your your tips. I might even join a running club near me.

Well done for doing the poppy run Mutley shuffle and an excellent time too . Your bling is different to ours, I guess the events are run by different organisations. Yes we had shingle and shells on our parkrun too after a very stormy Friday night. Not easy to run on.
