While others have fartleks thrust upon them. I would fall into the latter camp. But that’s what we did today. My ankles are feeling it but I know they need to be done. 13 sets of 1 min all out with 1 min recovery between each. Plus a run to the track and back made my 10 I needed for today. On the plus side there were freezies afterwards 😁

Well done, it is hard work. Though it sounds very regimented - more like intervals than fartleks. Either way you will reap the rewards!!
It was quite regimented, at a track with a whistle and everything 🙂. We did longer intervals over the last couple of weeks. These were the shortest sessions and for me, the most challenging as I was pushing hard with the cooler weather. Hoping the rewards will come with time.
Fartlek, interval, all variations on a theme and all the work of the devil! Can't argue with the results though. I'm just back from 10 x 3 minutes at >5k pace with 90 seconds recovery. The last two are murder.
It's amazing what we'll do for freezies....we're really all just kids at heart (and then we giggle at the name). Great job. It'll pay off in spades in the long run.

I love the regional differences in terms. I'm careful not to talk of my pants on here, which are what you would call trousers 😳. I'm learning a whole new language on this forum 😆
