Just chillin with coffee after having walked the dogs twice already
Funny week. Got stung repeatedly by irate wasps but fine now and it didn't effect my running. Still working through my half marathon/marathon plan and ticking runs off So far, so good Not been to the gym for two weeks though
Got another 5k jog today after a 12k yesterday as per plan, which is ok usually but not when iโm Clocking up dog walking miles too. Wonโt be clear of dogs til next Monday. Oh well itโs free cross training ๐ช๐
Have a good week folks ๐๐๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
That cup of coffee is so happy! Mine is in front of my keyboard as I type, and it just has a sort of bemused expression ๐
My week was quieter due to resting after the 55k, but I'm trying to get (gently) back on it this week - especially strength training which I have now missed two weeks in a row. Have been feeling a bit fed up about a few things that are stressing me out, but it's my birthday on Wednesday - yay! ๐๐ Am considering some hill repeats for the birthday run - is that weird?
It is very cheerful, but also a bit grubby looking. Much like my own coffee, which isn't cheerful but which seems to have gone cold already. ๐
BIRTHDAY WEEK! Yes! I love a hill so I don't find it weird at all. Though I mostly like stopping at the top and breathing it in, then pelting down the other side, and I fear with repeats the point is to spend more time doing the less fun bit!
I'm still tapering (well, conveniently giving my leg a break!) so did a small run yesterday. It was horrid as we had our wrap party on Saturday and I really felt the effects of that... I was very sensible at the time, but a few beers go a long way when it comes to running the day after ๐ซ My calf is still sore when running, though not when walking or cyclingโI can feel it then but it doesn't cause any problems. I should be OK for the weekend I think, it won't be very comfortable though so may need to revise my target ๐ Still, a guaranteed PB whatever I do!
Oh yes, and I learnt to Floss at the party so am now cool in the eyes of the kids. ๐ (Maybe.)
I'd like to say they don't exist, but WhatsApp delivered plenty on the Sunday! ๐คฃ One of the series directors was particularly bad and has borne the brunt of the banter ever since. As is only right.
Morning all, on my way back from Wales after my first ever race (whoop!) yesterday in the Cardiff 10k. Still on a high from that, and this week is planned to be a fairly relaxed one - just some gentle runs ahead of going away on holiday next week, before getting stuck into a HM plan on my return.
So a quiet week this week, albeit with a permanent grin on my face from the 10k ๐๐๐
First ever 28k done last Friday, in the afternoon, in the heat with no after effects apart from an inability to sleep Fri, Sat, Sun night - why? ๐ฎ So this week a couple of shorter runs, just about to go for a 5k now the cat has got off my lap ๐. Did think about tying him down so I couldnโt go but I find I really want to go so kicked that idea into touch. Gearing up for the next 28k which is possibly this Friday.
Cats and running are a terrible mix ๐ They are so good at getting comfortable, and giving me similar ideas. Curling up on the sofa is always appealing.
Well done! I think this canโt sleep thing after long runs is normal. Iโm the same. Our brains are still running long after our legs have stopped ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Mr Annie got me 6 (2 sets of 3 with tickets to the motorbike show). Iโve sold my bike now so speed is all in the running, or my car ๐. The rest have come with events and Tailwind sent me one with my last order after right a review.
Aha! So that's what they meant when they emailed to say if I wrote a review they'd make it worth my while ๐ I probably would have anyway, but now I know it might get me a bonus Buff I'm definitely up for it!
I can't run without one! I really can't. I do have big flappy hair, so it helps contain that, but there's something so reassuring about wearing one. It keeps me warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and keeps my ears tidy. I enjoy a souvenir buff too. And getting a buff in my finishers pack is pure joy ๐ I think I have a problem.
I'm not sure yet, but my original question may have arisen from the fact I succumbed to their buy one get three free offer a bit earlier today ๐
I have an original hygge band, the ones that are more like Alice bands, and I didn't get on with it because it was too narrow and tight and I looked like Bon Jovi. But the new ones seem to be buff sized, so I thought it worth a shot!
