Hello everybody and welcome to Monday.... so lets take the week by the scruff of its neck and dance.
I went a bit OTT with run and gym yesturday, and my sister made me go to Yoga!!!! I tried not to giggle...
Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week. Please join in the discussion
If you're new or a lurker this is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.
Have a great week, and enjoy your runs

Still running and strength-training to the Plan. Had a melt-tastic tempo run yesterday which ended with me putting a kid's chain back on her bike and getting my hands COVERED with oil π
I had one really good sea windsurfing session, and then the following day I got stranded on a private beach *embarrassing* π³
The 5.30 run was as fabulous as last time (bit warm though - phew!!), medal very pretty, and the cherries and Parmesan were lush π
Yoga, huh? So when you say you "tried" not to giggle... ?
Yes, including a man whose fishing line I was horribly close to violating with my sail! I was expecting to get shouted at, but nobody really seemed too bothered actually. The next beach after that is Fatboy Slim's garden, that might have been interesting...
Yoga makes me giggle too π For me it's something to do with the pin-drop quietness and the earnest chat from the instructor about breathing and spirituality. It brings out the primary school child in me, I just can't help it. Mr Squeak does yoga most mornings but I'm banned from going along.
I had the worst weekend of running, I planned to go to parkrun on Saturday with visions of smashing the 5min/km barrier but then woke up with a migraine and just crawled round the house all day waiting for the medication to kick in. Sunday, lovely breakfast in bed and feeling a bit better so thought I'd do my own makeshift parkrun locallyβand then bailed out after a measly 2.5k because my legs just stopped working and I crashed. I do get weird and weak after a migraine sometimes but odd that it happened halfway through what started off as a cracking strong run. Ugh feeble humans!
Oh I do hope you feel better soon.... thats grim. And yes I am the same, its all a bit serious too isnt it. I was convinced I was going to fart, so most of my time was spent holding it in!!!!!
Terrible HM yesterday... Did you send your heat down south from the UK?
Race ran out of water and yes I did carry a bottle but it was to little to manage the whole distance... Started too fast and faded fast thanks to the lack of water - unable to time my gels the way I wanted and wearing a long sleeve running top under my club colours didn't help much either...
Today I am hitting the road with my MTB and the gym for a swim 49 Days till first triathlon!!
I lurve yoga π§ββοΈ but do it home in front of the telly π
Roseabi it coulda bin worse. The person with the bike chain could have been on the private beach. Imagine that if you will ππ. Nah, best not βΊοΈ
Been dog walking but not much else since Thursdayβs race. However, tonight is the first run of marathon training. A 5k jog is first up πββοΈ The dog has gone home, my tea is going down nicely, so iβll soon be off.
Oh I did do a run! I forgot! I ran one of the RunkeeperGo challenges. Surges! Wasnβt sure how it went as I couldnβt read my watch and surge π
Didnβt think much more about it but got an email saying iβd Done a good job of them and theyβd unlocked my next challenge which is βshort fartleksβ I checked my runkeeper stats today and it showed my pace for the surges (and slow bits) against the target pace set. I understood it too which was a refreshing change π€ͺ. Looked quite good considering I was going up a pig of a Slope for the return leg
Back to the gym on Thursday to start a new six week stint πͺππποΈββοΈ
I'm sort of following a new plan in case I get permission to enter the Rother 10k in Sept. So short fast runs at the moment to improve speed. Fast running and hot weather not a good combo.
And I have a tight knee. It doesn't hurt just feels tight and doesn't bend as much as it used to. I'd better see what sort of stretches Mr Google suggests.
