Well I only went and did it, bloody hot with temp at 29 degrees and boy but it sapped your strength.
Was really tough and calves cramped up at about 9.5 miles and didn't want to release but I kept on, no way was I not doing this (You're a Walker lad) and even managed a "sprint" finish.
Official time was 2.53.31 and I was 48th in my age group (out of how many I don't know

Congratulations! What a star! It was so hot - just standing there at the finish I was roasting, and watching people come past I could see that some were really struggling with the heat. But you did it! Very well done - I'm not sure if I was still there at the finish (I had to leave for another appointment) but I may well have seen you under the Guildhall Do you know, there were people laughing at my green pom poms? How dare they?
