What's new, pussy cats? Welcome to a new week!

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week. It's fabulous to see everyone's training updates each week!

If you're new or a lurker this is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Let us know how your training, cross-training, recuperation, running, racing, snoozing, knocking pens off tables, rolling on your back invitingly then attacking with claws and teeth, is going!

Morning all..πŸ˜‰

HM plan still on track..distances have been gradually increasing..upping my strength training which is fun. Legs feel stronger..passed the 10K Mark for the first time since leaving the IC..a mind block milestone for me. Looking foward to the runs in the sun.

Got a shiny new plan to unfurl on Wednesday for my upcoming tough 10 mile race. It’s local! πŸ‘. My new training plan will include the last of the races in the Triple Hill Challenge, which I’ve signed up to.

I’ve got a week’s holiday booked and I’m planning to get plenty of running done More hills though I suspect πŸ™„.

Off to the gym now to get some post hill race stretching done

Well my HM recovery has wrapped now so the plan is done as of Saturday. Now what? Asics is silently asking me to set a new plan...πŸ™‚ I might look at maybe a marathon training plan wrapping in Sept. for the Scotiabank waterfront race. What the hey, if I’m not ready by then I could do the HM distance instead. Ha! So much for no marathons. I may still focus on getting a bit stronger in the HM. No final decisions yet.

That is definitely a good thing, but the two are not necessarily mutually exclusive :)

I am starting to distrust my Garmin plan now. It has lulled me into a false sense of security by suggesting that I do short, gentle runs - 'Run, easy pace, 20 minutes' it says. 'Run, easy pace, 30 minutes', it offers. It has me doing something every day (cross training pilates) except for one day off a week. Great. Then I peeked ahead until next week and it wants 'Run, easy pace, 30 minutes. Walk 5 minutes. Run, easy pace 30 minutes.' That's upping the ante, isn't it???

I enter the two week Race Simulation phase of my HM Asics plan this week. It starts with an easy 3 mile jog. Hooray! It ends with an 11-miler. Gulp.

I'm supposed to be having a leisurely week leading up to my first ever half marathon on Sunday. Running leader tonight decided we should do some sprint intervals followed by some hill training. I did enjoy it though.

Congratulations, ju-ju- ! I don't think I've shared this yet, but you inspired me to buy shiny red longlasting lipstick for London. You look so glamorous in your photos, so I tried to follow in your footsteps. Of course it only lasted for less than half the course, but at least I look nice in my pre-race photos!

My polar bear HM is sneaking up on me, and I've just had too much work to train much for the past few weeks - not to mention my still-achy heel. I tried a long run on Monday, but just didn't feel right, so I stopped at 7km. Today I got to 11km and didn't do too badly, but with a job due for delivery this afternoon, I didn't feel I could afford the extra half hour out there. At least I took a few minutes to sit by the fjord and enjoy the view.

I definitely need to do some more cycling before I leave to build up my thighs!
