I just thought I would have a look at what races I want to do next year.
Might have to cut back on a couple of them

Ouch! Triathlons are pricey, aren't they!?
Funny, I was just thinking the other day about totting up how much I've spent on this year's races, but I chickened out
Yep they certainly, might have to cut out the Tri's that are over £100 that does seem a bit pricey. Just looked at Brighton tri as well, they do a child's race for 12-year-olds and a little race for 3-year-olds all of them can join in!
I should stop looking.
And never look back at how much you spent on races, shoes, watches etc it will scare you!
OK, I won't
The Brighton & Hove tri cost me almost £80, but when I found out what they provide I thought it was pretty good value. Still, it certainly all adds up a bit scarily!
£80 ? it says £60 at the moment, are you going to do it again?
£85 for 18+ It was £75 plus booking fees last year.
Yes, I'm in, but I took an early bird discount, which was basically the same price as I paid before.
There was a triathlon at Brighton Marina in October, which was only £44 this year - the bike leg is pretty hilly though...
*******
£165. Really! 😳
Local races are cheap, easier to get to, so generally that’s me. The marquee events don’t really interest me with their thousands of runners. Good job, being a peasant 🙂
A spreadsheet! 😁 there’s thorough 👍
The two half's are nice little local races and the Leeds Castle (and its just down the road) and Oysterman Tri's are quite small and I don't think Eastbourne Tri is too big. I won't do London Tri that's to big and expensive and Hever Castle is big but good because me and my son can race on the same day.
And Holkham for £165 is for a Half IM so that is pretty cheap for that and does include camping! But not sure I can swim 1.9km in an hour so i doubt i will do that.
I only do a spreadsheet as I need to forward plan for child care as my other half works on a Sunday so I need to book my parents before they start having a social life!
£71 for the running... that sounds like a cheap hobby. Now all that swimming and cycling malarkey, that's clearly where the expensive money goes
Come to the Dark side Tomas, just think of all the extra stats you can work out!
You know you want too!
I did take swimming lessons and had myself booked on an Olympic tri at lake Windermere two years ago. But during the training it all became too much with trying to do all three things, and I ended up taking a break for a couple of months where I did absolutely nothing.
But I migth still be convinced some day. And you're right about the stats... ooooh, the spreadsheets, I might even have to write a little database app to track things, now there's an idea....
Oh so pretty! windermere-triathlon.com/in...
come on @roseabi let's go up north!
Just think of those stats and if you did write a little database app to track things I am sure it be very useful for everyone!
Oof! I am definitely up for that but definitely NOT next year
Sounds exciting. Let's definitely talk more about this next year or the year after
Deffo, mos def
Tomas you need to get a sprint tri in first to tri it out!
