Spelling congratulations

I would just like to say how lovely it is to be on a forum where people can spell. Is this because running is so good for the brain that they are hyper intelligent. Seriously though apart from the odd typo the posts here are faultless.

Well done

Good for you, but what has that got to do with running?

Between American spelling and British spelling and stupid autocorrect and idiot-child spell checker.... I get so twisted in a knot sometimes it's unreal. :)

Don't we all!

I check and double check my posts but admit with being dyslexic I can miss words sometimes. 😀.

But you care enough to check

It's a lot easier on the proper computer than the phone though - sometimes I don't notice the autocorrect till it's too late, and some complete howlers get through!

True that about smartphones. They do tend to make interesting predictions

I thought these forums were about running (see strap line above) , didn't realise we're being checked and tested on our ability to write, spell, punctuate.....etc., Is this a precursor to participation? I'm not quite understanding.....

maybe this isn't for me then........

in reply toMadge50

The point was to show how wonderful everyone is here. No tests. Merry Christmas

and my point was, this is a running forum, not an English language forum.

It's fantastic because it is for running, and gives support to all those who give C25K a go, regardless of whether they can read, write or spell correctly.

Happy running.

I quite agree with Madge, this forum is about running, and if people understand what others post, who cares about spelling? We have people here of all abilities, many whose first language is not English, this can only put them off coming here.

Oh! I've just seen you are an English teacher! People in glass houses and all that....your post contains no fewer than three mistakes!!

There are 5 full stops missing off your replies too!

I don't want to stir the pot here however I honestly do not see anything objectionable in the post? I might be missing something accusatory or denigrating but quite frankly all I read seemed to be a rather whimsical if "off topic" comment and God knows I'm probably the major villian around here when it comes to that.

Let's just put this one to rest and resume being supportive of each other. Arguments are best left to the Clintons and Trump's and those contentious types of Forums. Here we just run and probably screw up now and then but no biggie really.

Anyway, that's my tuppence worth and all I have to say except

Happy Christmas Y'all :)

I agree Irish-John about putting this post to rest. This post is close to being pulled any replies under my post will be deleted.
