i guess most of here use a app to log our fitness activity's be it Strava, Runkeeper etc. Most have a per for service that gives you a few more stat's, training programs that sort of thing.

I did have Strava premium but have decided not to renew to see if i actually miss it. My question to you is.

1. Do you pay for the premium service for what ever app you use?

2. If you do pay for it? do you think its worth while and what is you like about it.

3. If you dont pay for it, would you ever consider paying for it?

4. any other info!

I have Runkeeper but don't pay the premium , but don't really use it since I got my Garmin. Same with Strava.

I do have the Zombies Run App, that also clocks distance, pace etc and I pay Β£2.99 a month for that and have got loads of missions to complete .

Mapmyrun, don't pay. Not sure I need the extras really as I mostly just want it to tell me how far I have gone. I have zombies too and again don't pay. Means mostly just get told the zombies are around rather than hear them breathing down my neck, but really just use it as an added distraction on long runs. Maybe I am just tight.

I use Runkeeper, but don't pay either. It would be interesting to get more stats and I am tempted, but it enables me to pore over my own spreadsheets and get data from there. I think I'm just stingey, but these things add up. If I decide to go for full stats I would probably use Garmin or Strava via a watch.

I use Garmin, smash run and if I want detailed stats I use an app called connectStats (iPad). I don't pay for any monthly stats as I find I get enough with these. The connect stats was a one off fee for the app and it connects to my Garmin. I have a misfit shine that connects to myfitnesspal when I use it but it is currently connected to weight watchers. I suppose my Garmin and misfit give me the ability to get all the information I want and then I use various apps to read that information.

I have Endomondo premium, I like the stats and the weather info, and that it's ad free. I only use an app to keep record of my progress, so I don't use any of the training stuff (although I might try them at some point). I have a HRM, so I can use Endo premium with that when I want to.

Mostly, it was cheap and I have a soft spot for Endo :) Honestly though, I don't think I'd miss the premium features.

I use a Forerunner 10 now but sync this to my long standing Runkeeper app. I only have the free version. I also have the free Zombies - Run! app which I used on some of those dark winter runs! I have found what I have more than sufficient ( didn't really need a Garmin to honest, as Runkeeperdoes all that I need and moreπŸ™‚.

I pay for Goodrunguide. I like it for its really good off road maps with which you can toggle between satellite and footpath mode, and as you are represented on the map by a little running man icon, it helps you plot a route. I can zoom in to look for landmarks to help me when I get out onto my plotted route. When I get back I can upload the run into it. Β£14 a year. There is a whole host of other stuff on there as it's a complete running package and forum

I use Endomondo premium (pay for it). And I really like it. I do use the training plans, and I have found them very helpful, and also quite accurate.

I totally am in love with Strava, I've just gone premium and I'm mad about all the extras... I totally love looking at my stats.... I'm so sad!!!!

I am a tightwad, so no I don't pay! I used to use RK, but my phone wasn't really up to the job, so paying would have been a waste. I surprised my self when I coughed up for a Garmin (the cheapest model) and that does enough for me. xx

I still use endomondo it has all my runs I've ever done on it, no ads even though I don't use premium, and more info if I log in online and go back through my history. I don't follow any training plans or do any of the social networking aspect of it. I've also used myfitnesspal a lot for logging calories while I was losing the excess weight, I literally just used it as an adding tool, again didn't use the social networking side of it. Lastly I use openstreetnav, which doesn't give you a gps dot, but I find it the most accurate for planning offroad paths. I started running in a very financially tight position and couldn't afford to spend much money on things, so was looking for anything free that would help me progress. But things change, I'm tempted by misswobble's description of goodrunguide...

You can use GRG without paying and pnly subscribe if you like it. When you select to find routes you can sidestep the registration thing. Or at least you could. I only paid for it once I found I knew I would use it a lot

The only ones I use regularly are free versions of Strava and Garmin Connect. Find they do all I need - and I'm tight too!
