contact social services (adult care and support department) they should be able to help you
I agree with Cindi138 - the first place to contact is your local authority - social services - most will have an adult or older people service. They will be able to arrange a care assessment for your Dad and suggest a care plan so that he gets support at home, part of this will also be a financial assessment. You can be present at the meeting to support your Dad, if he is happy for you to be there. It might also be worth contacting your Dad's GP and highlighting the issues you are experiencing. Hope this helps and you are able to get support and care for your Dad. p.s. if you have not already considered this, I would recommend that you look into establishing Lasting Powers of Attorney so that you, or with another family member or close friend, can act as a legal attorney for your Dad and assist him with matters re property & finance or health & welfare going forward.
a carehome that specialises in dementia.
