I had an injection yesterday and it caused a bleed ( inside eye) affecting my sight badly I attended the urgent care centre today and have to be checked again next week and return if things worsen. Wondered if anyone else had an internal bleed and if so how long it took to resolve please

Hi rosyG. It happened to me once in the early days of having injections. It didn't affect my vision but it looked awful. I hope yours settles soon and that there will be no further problems.
Thanks Springcross. Difficult as now have to look out for all post injection things plus any signs of retinal detachment etc and go back immediately! Have follow up in a week so doctors being very good. I’ve had about 60-70 injections in this eye and nothing like this before so anyone new to injections don’t get put off!!
Yes, I know what you mean, I've had 60 injections but we never know what's around the corner do we!! I'm glad to hear the doctors are being very good, it makes things so much easier. All the best.
hi there is this visible from the outside? Is it noticeable on the white of your eye? It sounds different from the bruise that can be seen when a blood vessel is pricked.
It was very weird a big snake like black thing appeared in my vision at the same time as I saw the usual injection fluid and my vision was very bad only three letters on test chart ( about 27 before injection). Nothing visible externally. The doctor examine my eye said everything looked hazy and I saw both the retinal and urgent care consultant. They think it’s a bleed from the needle and I have to go back in a week and lotbout fir all sorts of things in the meantime. I’m wondering how long internal bleeds take to be absorbed !!
sounds like a vitreous bleed. I had one of those spontaneuosly on Friday and also rushed to emergency. Have to react to light flashes and dark areas. I can see absolutely nothing with that eye now. Was told to not do heavy exercise, no head down and to not go on high mountains.
I hope yours has cleared up - seems like it may take a while for the stuff to settle 😕
how are you doing now? My situation is unchanged which is somewhat annoying as I am not allowed to do much and thwy cannot judge if any treatment will be required 😕
I’m sorry you’re not seeing better yet. I had an appointment on Thursday and consultant told me to look out for flashes My enormous floaters are difficult and I also am not sleeping flat. I think they wait a while to see if blood gets absorbed but will do surgery if needed. Where are you being treated ? If you can’t see I would make sure they do surgery as soon as needed so expert upon ion needed. Do keep in touch and I will too
