I really hope you can start feeling some relief from the anxiety your currently feeling. I don't come from a background that embraces alternative therapies but I would strongly advocate the use of meditation, try to get into a daily routine or as regular as you can manage, I think you will feel the benefits.

It depends what you want it for. I've left a link which contains podcasts of guided meditation, you will see there are podcasts for different things, anxiety and sleep problems amongst them. Try some and see how you get on. It may not be for you but you won't know unless you try. These are not the only meditation sites on the internet, there are several out there, you just have to find the one you like if you decide it's for you.
Hi Phil, thanks for the comments. I try to go out, talk with people, roam around riding, but when I'm alone for a moment my anxiety gets allover my body, specially in hands and feet. And i feel weakness. Tho, i stopped googling about macular edema, but my sleep is disturbed so much.. i hardly sleep for 4-5 hours in night and once i get up.. i get up with fears. I know eye problems has changed most of our lives, but on the other treatments is also available but the fear is not going away.
Hi iAHow are you doing at the moment? Sounds like things can become overwhelming at points but also it sounds positive that you can still get out and speak with people.
The meditation that I previously referred to was not using any particular audio recording but simply......
Taking time out of your day or night...find a relaxing place, attempt to a mindful exercise i.e. just try and clear your mind, just let any worrying thoughts pass without focusing too much on them, may be do an all over relaxation try mentalising relaxing your body parts from your toes right up to your head.
I'm no expert but I find the above surprisingly calming, may be you should explore some form of talking therapy....just to get you through this patch...
Just so that you and the others in this thread are aware, the impact of the diagnosis of any eye condition, and indeed any stage in the process, is generally compared to experiencing a bereavement. Individuals frequently go through very similar feelings and responses, and in no set order. We do have a free telephone counselling service:
It takes a counsellor a maximum of 10 working days to make the initial call to discuss the referral. Our counsellors are fully trained, and some have sight loss themselves. Sessions consist of approximately 6 of around 45-50 minutes each.
Thank you Rosalyn, you're so right the whole eye Struggle Thing can be quite a weight at times - I will look into the option of using the counselling service....Thanks once again
