Computer settings for better sight

My wet macular degeneration seems to be worse. Does anyone know computer settings for pages with PURE white with dark black letters? My pages seem to have a dim dirty white beige background and the text seems too light faded looking. I need better definition. I just need a pure white background with darker black text. Thanks for any advice. 😊 Hugs to all.

Need more info to help you. Are you using a desktop computer with a monitor or a laptop & using the laptop screen or a laptop but using an external monitor? Are you using a Windows computer or an Apple computer?

If you are using an external monitor, the monitor itself should have buttons or settings that will allow you to change the brightness & color of the display.

On the computer, you can go to SETTINGS, SYSTEM, DISPLAY to change some things on the display and also SETTINGS, ACCESSIBILITY to change the view for vision impaired people. These instructions are for PCs. I am not at all familiar with Apple products like MACs.

Thanks Retired130. I think it was the "accessibility" for vision impaired people on my laptop. You were very helpful, I probably need an outer system too for better lighting. I will also search google for assistive devices such as better lighting, etc. It's only in one eye, but hard to read text. Have a great holiday and thanks for your advice! 😊👍

Hello Randy M,, no central vision in left eye, right eye half macular and cataract, vision on computer poor, but I do use Google Chrome.

download for free, when loaded look at top right icons. You should see a circle half black half white. Click, scroll down to black back gropnd yellow writing, click. You can do this on most pages but not all.

To make your fonts larger---3 vertical dots far right top of screen, click and scroll down until you font %, increase your font by using rhe + sign. Mine is set at 175%.

I hope this will help

Hello again Randy, Change your font size first because if you do it after changing to black and yellow it will return to white background.
