Acupuncture for degenerative eye disorder

I booked a consultation with an acupuncture practitioner and signed up for the first week of treatment. The end result was amazing my vision is much sharper and areas that was blurry are clear and I can see. Although it is not a cure with maintenance I can keep my vision in tact. I will still be going to the eye clinic for my regular appointment. My next injection is scheduled for next week and it will be interesting to see when I get to skip an injection. Has anyone done the acupuncture and if so how long was it before you was able to skip an injection.

Something worth looking into! Thanks, I'll consider this once the virus is a bit more under control..here in the States it is still pretty scary.

Hello Pidgy,

I was newly diagnosed with wet macular degeneration in November and am also having acupuncture. It is too early in my treatment to say if I can miss an injection as had two out of the three base treatments.

The literature evidence shows acupuncture increases local blood circulation and reduces inflammation.

Dr Anthony Rosenfarb in America specialises in treating clients with eye conditions with acupuncture. He also trains acupuncturists throughout the world to treat eye conditions.

It's great to hear your eyes improved after one treatment. Looking forward to hearing an update.

I will keep you updated. I did contact Rosenfarb and he has been following up with me and sending me some of their webinars. Not many acupuncturist in Canada does it so I was blessed to locate one 15mins from my home ..I thought that had to be a sign (lol).

I found two acupuncturists from the assoc. of acupuncturists and was very disappointed with both of them. The first one kept asking me very irrelevant questions about whether I was more ying or yang to determine what the issue was, she didn't get that the issue was I had dry md. The second one I saw was more interested in selling me vitamin supplements. I would be very interested to know how you got on. I do think that if your can find an acupuncturist who knows about eyes conditions it will help.

Very true . The acupuncturist must be trained in Natural Regeneration and Acgm is correct my acupuncturist was trained by Rosenfarb group.

I am a great believer in alternative medicine. I have a lot of faith in acupuncture. It cured my dreadful dry eye syndrome. I went to a Chinese Clinic in Leeds. I have been for other problems. Can’t praise it enough. Though in my experience I would go to a Chinese practitioner.

Update to Acupuncture

After my treatment I went for my needle and the improvement in my vision was very good. My last injection followup saw greater improvements and so my doctor said that the next injection would be in 6 weeks instead of 4 because of the improvement in my vision. Ii think both treatments work well together. My confidence level is back where it needs to be and I pray the improvement continues. Since diagnosis I have had 4 injections.
