Hi Tessa. Almost black really doesn't sound alright to me. Sometimes it can become bloodshot which is usually caused by the injector hitting a vein which is sometimes unavoidable as they can't see where the veins are, but almost black?? Exactly when did you have the injection? Was it Friday and if so, I would ring the emergency number they gave you tomorrow and explain exactly what it's like. Is it painful or sore? You could also ring the Macular Society helpline on 0300 3030 111 tomorrow and ask their advice. Good luck. Please let us know how you get on. x
Hi, It sounds exactly what happened to me, I had a painful injection,, my eye went black, eventually I went back to see consultant because it was so painful a week Later, after he looked at the scan he said I had an infection at point of needle.this can happen sometimes. He gave me antibiotic drops & Tablets, so ring the hospital. It’s caused by the injector bruising the eye. x
Ring your clinic and tell them, dont waste time in case there's an infection.
As springcross says, bloodshot can happen but to be almost black doesn't sound right and whitegoose's experience very informative.
Best wishes going forwards.
Thank you eyes right I have contacted the eye centre and if there is no improvement to ring again so fingers x
