Just had my first and injection for amd. Noticed a huge improvement in vision after 48 hours but it only lasted for about 12 hours. Does anyone know if that’s normal and has anyone else experienced the same.

Amd injections
Hi Blindbasset. I was told and have found that initially the vision gets a little worse but then after a little while, it gets better. On saying that, after the last but one injection (I have a damaged macula due to leaving my condition too long) within about ten minutes of having it, I could see through my left eye quite clearly which I had not been able to do for quite some time but that didn't last unfortunately, so I think that maybe your eye may improve again after a little while - you'll just have to wait and see. Good luck with it anyway. x
Good Morning Blindbasset,
Changes in vision are normal, especially during the first few injections. The injections are aimed towards maintaining as opposed to improving vision, sometimes individuals report a slight improvement within the first 2-3 injections, however, this is variable. As long as the injections are stabilising and holding the eye, then they are performing their function.
Best Wishes,
Becky
