I had my recent injection at another hospital and as usual the area around my eye was cleansed (morel like scrubbed) It was very sore but I thought this would wear off. It didn't but got worse and spread across my entire face, resulting in tight, stretched and dry skin.Any movement of my eyes or mouth felt as if the skin would split and it felt rough and grainy Everything I apply to try to soothe only stings and now it it itching. I called the hospital to see if they had used a different antiseptic to my usual one and they transferred me to my originak hospitalbut all they said was to buy some ointment from the chemist and if it faiked to work to get back in touch. My skin has started to wrinkle and it looks awful. Has anyone else had the same thing happen to them with this antiseptic cleanser?

princess, you really need to get back in touch with the hospital and tell them it's no better. If you don't get any joy, then I suggest you see your GP to get your skin sorted and then make a complaint to the hospital. Try and get someone to take a photograph of your face with either your phone or a camera. It sounds to me like you need this sorted quickly but if you are in any doubt, you can always ring the Macular Society and ask their advice. Good luck and let us know how you get on. xx

Take photos and make an appointment to see your GP if I were you, it does sound as though you have an allergic reaction. Best wishes.

as stated above-please go and see your GP and contact the patient services at the hospital concerned. I have had numerous injections and experienced a variety of procedures -one nurse practically scrubbed my entire face with iodine and I was in agony-maybe you have a similar problem!! I ended-up spending 7 and a half hours in the emergency dept!!
