I am a 41 yr old female, was diagnosed with CSR over 4 years ago. Retinal specialist told me this would go away, but it never has. I have used eye drops for a while but they messed with my stomach. Got them lasered, but it never lasts. Every time one blob dries up there is a new one ready to go right in the center of my vision, ALWAYS. And it makes all straight lines curvy. Also a big blob on lower right on same eye that never changes. I’m not diabetic. Can’t watch tv without covering up or closing my eye. Always winking to read. And it’s ALWAYS watering. Constantly wiping tears away. I thought this was temporary?! I can’t function like this anymore and I can’t afford to go to a retinal specialist now that my insurance changed. What can I do??

CSR never goes away
Call for an appointment with a NEW retinal specialist. Present your insurance card when asked for it and see what happens. These are bad times for everyone so they may find a way to help you........
I'm 43 and have the same condition. In some cases it's true it never goes away and it's about managing what you have, the fluid is supposed to be absorbed back into the body but in yours and mine it isn't and it's rare for people in our age group(we must be special). All I know is that you have to try and reduce stress because that's the cause of it so its a lifestyle thing so try to eat clean, take some kind of exercise that actually makes you feel good, slow down and make changes to minimalise rushing about frantic in lifes rat race. It's not easy especially if you have children but this can make a difference. I'd also have a second opinion from another eye specialist and take it from there. It certainly is a pain in the you know what having this condition but you just have to keep your head up and try to be positive.

Hi, I was reading your post about CSR. I don't want to give you false hope, but when I was diagnosed with wet AMD in right eye, I read a book entitled: " Blind Faith-Reversing Macular Degeneration", by John Crittenden. He overcame his wet AMD (20/400 to 20/40 through diet and nutrition. He took massive amounts of supplements, but soon realized that his diet and supplements not only helped his eye condition, but helped other health issues he was living with. I suggest it is a good book for whatever eye condition you have. In that book, he references Dr. Gary Price Todd, MD, opthalmologist, who states that if a person has CSR, they need to take Vitamin C and bioflavinoids and it will reverse it in 7 days! Unfortunately, he does not indicate how much of these nutrients you should take in his book, but maybe researching Dr. Gary Price Todd will give you the answer. I take several of the supplements listed in that book, and I am 5 years post WAMD and have 20/30 vision. I do have a scotoma which does affect my reading, but have learned to ignore it. Good luck!

Hi. My heart goes out to you. I had CSR in one eye starting in early forties. It resolved on a few months that time and another time. For several years I have had Chronic CSR in one eye and have mild wet AMD in the other. My condition is associated with genetic dome shaped macula and myopia. Are you in the U.S.? Most medical universities have clinics for patients and payment is based on income. I would be happy to help you locate one if you tell me what your location is. Vision therapy or low vision centers might be able to help you function at your best. Have you applied for disability? I have not but have very dim and distorted vision in the CSR eye. I have opted not to have PDT because it doesn’t last. I doubt that the watering is due to CSR. An optometrist should be able to help with that. We still have life and hope for future therapies to help. My older brother became disabled due to poor vision but is still able to watch his large TV, reads with magnifier devices, cooks and cares for himself. He enjoys life and accepts his limitations. He inspires me to not despair. We are all here to help each other.
Cant offer any advice re csr but my ophthalmologist told me when eye waters it's actually dry (consider that it's trying to moisten itself). Dry eye can be a side effect of some eye treatments/ conditions and is made worse in cold windy times.
There are many sterile preservative free eye drops available that can help - suggest you speak to your eye doc to determine if you have a need for these. Best wishes going forwards.
