Question about epiretinal membrane operation

Have you had the operation or for epiretinal membrane - or decided not to?

I have it in both eyes but can see well enough for what i want to do and just got stronger glasses.

but if my sight gets much worse, or i see a straight line as wavy, i guess i will need the op.

the op scares me and i know it can go wrong.

if you have experience of having the op or deciding not to, I';d love to hear from you.

Just so you are aware, we have vitrectomy telephone buddies if you do decide to go ahead with the procedure. These people have had the procedure for macular hole surgery, rather than an EPR, but as this is the same process, they can certainly chat you through the process.

Whilst it is an excellent idea to gain peer support from others, it is vital to discuss the risks and benefits of making a decision regarding surgery with your Ophthalmologist, as everyone will have different experiences.
