Anyone had a PVD in both eyes? Or even one eye ? I had my second today and it’s horrid to say the least.

Hi tallyho. Oh dear, it's not nice, is it? I got it after my last eyelea injection in June and it's taken nearly a year to clear up. My consultant won't inject again until it's completely cleared, fortunately I haven't had any leaks!!

You just have to be patient and wait for it to clear up as there doesn't seem to be any treatment for it.

Best wishes and hugs.

Hi Tallyho

Long before I had CNV I had PVDs in both eyes. First my left eye in my late 40s then 6 months later I had the same thing occur in the right eye. I was told it was due to my severe myopia. Very common in people with myopia. I experienced sparkly lights and what looked like cobwebs in my vision. After a few weeks these disappeared and I was left with a few floaters. I still have floaters. I'm now in my mid fifties.

Due to the fact I had PVDs in one eye then the other, I worry the same pattern will occur with the CNV.

I hope your symptoms subside as my did.

Hi tallyho. I was diagnosed with PVD in both eyes a few years' ago. It is very unpleasant and the first time I had it I thought something a lot more serious was going on. I had what seemed like a black curtain at the top of vision in my right eye, followed by flashes, webbing etc over the next few days. I can't remember how long it lasted but every now and then, when in a dark room, I get light flashes in the outer corners of my vision and floaters - not all at once and not too often. I have been told that it is nothing to worry about though, thankfully.

Hi there tallyho. My experience is close to how springcross describes. I had PVD in left eye last year which initially was alarming as it happened suddenly while I was out food shopping by myself (dropped items off at home en route to Eye Casualty A&E) ... Pleased to say hardly any cobwebby strings and blobs now in under a year. 5 weeks ago it's happened in my right eye only this time less of a shock but more scary because when the gel pulled away it caused 3 bleeds. After one week of laying flat in bed (up for showers then back etc) followed by these few weeks of being extra-sensible < the harder part!! (no yoga, sea rowing, swimming, lifting, bending...) Outpatients checks end very soon. Again floaters are subsiding well, mostly it's the bright flashes at times. I'm an active 65 with Dry AMD. I've learnt PVD IS scary, that it's worth being careful and diligent with check-ups, actually very common, and is really really irritating to have mucky floaters to look through but most importantly please don't be overwhelmed by it and I hope it improves very soon for you.

Thank you. I am 50 and high myope which is why I got mine earlier than most. My right one I got in 2016 is no different from when I got it very black and round. Hoping the left one will be different
