Has anyone out there noticed a connection between conjunctivitis and wet AMD? It was several bouts of "pink" eye that led me to the opthamologists who diagnosed my AMD as wet after an OCT scan. He said the conjunctivitis was caused by blepharitis. I always wondered about that diagnosis as I did NOT have any eye lid problems. That was in 2017. Now I am having redness in my other eye and i wonder? The Amsler grid doesn't work for that eye because I was diagnose with an epiretinal fold many years ago ( which makes center lines uneven).

Have you talked to the Macular Society:- (Helpline 0300 3030 111)? Allthe very best.
Dear Ikansea,
There is no connection that we are aware of between wet AMD and blepharitis. It is likely to be a case of correlation as opposed to cause. It would be worth you contacting your ophthalmologist via their secretary to discuss your concerns.

Thank you, Rosalyn.
I do understand that just because things happen together, it doesn't mean that one causes the other. And since I have not received any other responses, I don't suppose conjunctivitis and wet AMD occur together often.
Much appreciate this website. I find it most helpful and supportive.
