I have been receiving eye injections for brvo with macular edema for about 5 years. Right eye only and various drugs. I am now on eyelea which helps. I have lost central vision in that eye. I have a corrected vision of 20/20 in left eye. This will sound weird- I accidentally noticed when the eye would need an injection,I would notice in a fairly dark room that I would see half of the wall was blackened. My better eye would see it much lighter.

The better eye now sees what the injected eye would see. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? Both eyes have had cataracts removed in the past. The better eye had the film on back of the new lense lasered in nov 2018. I keep close check on my vision in that eye.

Can anyone shed light on my symptoms.

Thank You!

I would check with your eye clinic, it would worry me if my good eye was seeing no better than my bad one used to.

I'm in my 5th year of treatment for brvo Mac oedema too - have you been given any explanation for why it hasn't resolved? My doc just shrugs.

Thanks. It was caught very early and the ophthomologist said he was 98% sure he could reverse the occlusion. Started with avastin 4or5 injections then started on ozurdex. This continued for a couple years and then one day told me to make a choice to continue the injections the rest of my life or do nothing. I had asked him shortly before this if he thought we were making progress. He said he wouldn't be doing it otherwise.

I never went back and found a new ophthomologist who has been using Eyelea injections or about 2 years. The edema responds to the Eyelea but lasts abou 2 months.

I had a tear in the retina that was repaired by laser. I also have a scar on the macula.

I am very thankful for my remaining vision. It could be much worse. Thanks for replying. I will get my better eye checked and post my results.

Have a good weekend!

I also have this thing that when I opened one eye at a time in darkish room there was a difference in light levels (The treated one was okay) which I assumed was something to do with rods and cones but since diagnosed with AMD in other eye. I keep forgetting to ask about it as just happy to get through the injections! At one point I went through to the bathroom without turning lights on (quite a lot if street light) and realised with the worse eye I could not see my face. This does seem to have improved since treatment commenced but still want to ask about it. I never thought of using this as a test for progress of condition but will monitor this now especially as I am having avastin in that eye and it doesn’t seem as effective as Eyelea which left eye is treated with.
