Fuch.s dystrophy

Has anyone with macular degeneration also has fuch,s dystrophy and cataracts I haven’t seen anyone on here with both ie fuch,s dystrophy and macular degeneration L have injection in both eyes for macular but don’t know how my Fuchs is doing as we don’t have the right machine where I live but I do have a very good consultant who is keeping a check on it and will refer me when it gets bad but I don’t see anyone on here with this Thanks

My friend had Fuch's dystrophy and cataracts and has macular degeneration as well. She recently had a cornea transplant with each eye using a "donor" to correct the Fuch's disease. It was an outpatient procedure. Her doc is an expert in this field. The cornea is totally removed and replaced with a donor's cornea.

She said it was amazing and her sight is better than it has ever been. Healing time was only about 2 weeks and no discomfort at all! Have a retinal specialist see if you can also get this done.

Yes, it is amazing. We can only hope research will find a cure for the Macular Degeneration folks! Those eye injections are no fun, but they help slow the progression I assume. Have a nice holiday ayayay!

Thanks for your reply I am in UK but I have a sister in Florida also has fuch,s and md but had cataracts taken off years ago .I also have sister in uk with fuch,s and had 2new cornea,s 20 yrs ago (no md) and great vision .I was asking if anyone had all three as I have very blurry especially with lights etc My sister is sure it’s cataracts (USA) My cataracts are ready but my consultant not ready take them off and I’m sure he’s doing the best for me I have bad eye with scarring and other one is hanging on and still doing well with injections in both I’m seeing consultant end January and I’m hoping he,ll refer to fuch,s dr who did my sisters new corneas as no machine where I live and can find out where Fuchs is !!!!!!Im sorry bother you but it’s hard finding in uk with all three problems and thanks so much for kindness with your help It’s late good night xx
