Dry or wet?
Hi there
I believe that your MD is of the dry kind, otherwise you would have been given treatment. Remember that dry MD usually progresses very slowly and not not all dry MD turns to wet - only a 10-15% risk, though you being still very young you may be at a greater risk. Even if you were unfortunate enough to develop wet MD it does not follow that you lose your central vision. The eye injections have proved very successful for many people. Having said that, severe dry MD "can" in the end have the same visual effect as wet.
So, it is important that your eyes are monitored regularly. You can also look for changes in your vision by downloading an Amsler grid and check your eyes yourself, though only as a guideline. Try to live a healthy lifestyle and do not spend your time worrying too much. It never helps!
As for your headaches, I doubt that it is connected to MD. The condition is said to be painless. There is more likely a different reason for your migraine. Talk to you GP about it.
Hope all goes well for you.
Check out the macular society website. Lots of good info and a helpline.
yes, do call the helpline if you are unsure, they are very helpful and it sounds as if talking through with someone might be helpful at this stage
