Concerned about last injection
Hi, yes, quite common for me I'm afraid. Make sure your eye isn't dry - there are lots of soothing drops, I use Hylotear which my gp prescribes me ( if eye is tearing up it's probably dry and drops will help).
Eye pain should always be reported to your clinic though so call them just to be on the safe side.
Best wishes going forward.
Thanks for that it's not red or sore just tender maybe got to get used to it
I agree with Eyesright and would just add to look out for any new redness and go in straight away if you notice any
I get Lucentis. I found that my entire eyeball feels "tender" with a constant dull ache. I also have a tenderness in the cheekbone under that eye and the eyebrow bone above the eye, outer corner. I have had 2 injections, the last was April 25 [this month the skipped it due to improvement]. Both my eyeball and cheekbone are still tender to touch or pressure and sometimes I am aware of the ache - this is over a month later. When I have the injection, the eye itself feels a painful pressure and that lasts for about 3 days, and yes, a headache on that same side, similar to what I get after dental work.
We are probably all a bit different in how we respond. Good to share and see we are not alone.
Thank you for your reply it is identical to what I am feeling yes cheek bones tender as well ,one more to go and then back to see consultant hears hoping improvement Dobson 11
I think we are having some of the "normal" side effects. Reassuring to know! As I am a nurse, I know that individuals vary in their body awareness, too. You and I may be just more physically "aware" of what we are feeling. So it's not just that we each may have different side effects, but that we are of varying sensitivities and awareness of them. This is why support groups and forums like this are very helpful. Thanks for sharing your experience and best wishes for a positive response.
I had one very bad experience straight after an eyelea injection. As soon as I got home every bone in the left side of my face really, really hurt. It was so painful that I did not know what to do with myself. I felt incapable of making a phone call to the clinic, let alone going back there, so I took 2 painkillers and crawled into bed. Scary!! Luckily, the following day it was much better, though still a bit sore. This had never happened to me before and has never happened since. I still wonder what had happened there. Any suggestions?
Dear Dobson11 ,
Have you fed this back to the eye clinic? It is important that you do so. It may also be worth consulting with your GP about your headaches.
