Red eye after inj
Hi Gofdave, I ve got one of those at the moment- looks pretty gross but I thinks its ok. Get somebody to take a picture of it and show the doc next time you go. Thats my plan anyway! If it carries on being sore, ring the hospital for advice
Hi gofdave33, this has happened to me a few times, with unseen vessels they can't help it happening, just the luck of the draw. It can be sore for quite a while but does eventually clear.
I find using sterile soothing drops helps. Your eye is watering because it's dry and irritated so drops will help with that. Best of luck going forward.
Thanks for your help
Hi this is a simple bruise otherwise known as a subconjunctival haemorrhage. As such it will take up to 14 days to clear, they are generally not painful but you will be aware of it and others will comment! I am suprised they don't occur more often to be honest.
Thanks for your help.
I agree with wheezyl, they are unsightly but little more and invariably clear up. It is surprising that they don’t occur more frequently, I have had just one in 80 injections.
Very timely post as I have exactly the same from injection yesterday. As I have become intolerant of iodine and had a different antiseptic I was beginning to think it was reaction to that. I am extremely sensitive to sunlight this time too and vision is not so good. Is this similar to your experience Gofdave33?
Your synptoms mirror mine exactly. This morning vision has improved but still sore & very red. Will try Clinitas gel to see of it helps.
Oh hope it does. I’m having to use chloramphenicol drops for 3 days and they gave me visco tears but I usually have the gel which although sticky is much easier to use I find. Good luck and as you are a few days ahead of me, it will be really interesting to hear your progress.
I’ve had inj for 8 years. When this happens I find cold compresses help. Sometimes I have used warm or heated compresses of lentils or rice in a sterile bag that has helped.
