Greeting, I am new to the group but I have had dry Macular Degeneration for about 3 years. I am in the immediate stage .. but I have no issues with my central vision which I am thankful.

I come from a long family history of AMD on my mother’s side. I am eager to learn from everyone here. Thanks again for the forum & it’s wealth of knowledgeable and kind participates.

welcome to the site! I've had dry AMD for some time- came to the site because I am having injections for another problem. Everyone is supportive and helpful.

Do you check your sight with an ambler grid- I find that very useful

Hi, I'm taking the same but take two tablets. Just interested to know what other people take. Did take Viteeyes Areds2 until I read an article that stated onlyPreservision supplements had the same ingredients as the original research.

My retinal specialist recommended the vitamins about 2 years ago ❤️

Welcome to the club, Ellen. As you probably know already, dry AMD does not necessarily turn to wet. It happens only in 10 to 15% of people with dry AMD. Hopefully, yours stays dry for a long time to come. How have your family members fared? It may be some indication of what you may expect. A good healthy diet or supplements may help. As rosy G already mentioned, check your eyes regularly with an Amsler Grid. If you have any specific questions - we are here to support you.

Best wishes and a bg hug x

Thank you so much for your warm welcome 😊

My great grandmother was blind from wet AMD but she was diagnosed in the late 50’s and was not an advocate for doctors. My great aunts were diagnosed with dry. But my mother’s only sister was blinded by wet AMD b/c she refused to follow up with care. On my mother side I have multiple first & second cousins diagnosed & thank God they are following up with treatment & no one has turned into wet AMD.

I am thankful for the forum & the ability to learn all I can from each & every one of you.

Thank you again, Ellen
