This time last year I noticed a deterioration in the sight in my left eye.
I made an appointment with Specsavers in Hemel Hempstead and was diagnosed with wet AMD. The optometrist even got in touch with the hospital to make arrangements for an appointment.
I was sent to St Albans Hospital, where the diagnosis was confirmed. Within days I was seen, on a Saturday, at Watford General and given a really thorough examination. This was followed by an Eyelea injection. To be totally honest, I wasn't looking forward to this bit, but I was treated so well. I need not have worried. Okay, there was some fear, but once the deed was done I only suffered discomfort for the rest of the day.
This week I had my seventh injection and there has been a terrific changes in my vision. My vision in my left eye has drastically improved, now almost the same as my right one.
Once again, many thanks to Specsavers and the wonderful National Health Service.
