Eylia injection and blurr vision.

Hello everyone. I had CRVO in May 2017 and my Doctor gave me eylia injection. The vidion has improved considerably after 3 injections given every 6 weeks. When the appointment is delayed by a week or so, after 6 week time ends,the vision is a little blurred in morning hours but come back to normal 2-3 hours after I wake up. Next injection improves the vision even better. Right now my I have recovered 80% vision. I am worried about blurred vision in the morning hours. Please advise.

I would suggest ringing your ophthalmologist via their secretary and discussing your concerns. It is important to flag up the problem with injection delays and the negative impact to sight after 6 weeks, in addition to flagging up your concerns about blurred vision in the mornings.

Thank you for your reply. The problem is that I live in Caribbean and have to fly out to Colombia for injection. Recently our island was affected by hurricane and our airport is not fully functional. Also my insurance company has not started operating as yet. My six weeks finished a few days back and morning discomfort has started already. Dont know what to do. Please advise.

What is happening to people who need urgent treatment? I would ring the clinic but also look into how you would get there if they said to come as soon as possible. If they think it is urgent they may be able to arrange a helicopter pick up??

I am sorry to read of your challenging circumstances. I would suggest ringing your ophthalmologist in Colombia as soon as possible and see what they would advise. I am afraid that it is difficult for us to suggest anything in addition to this, as we are based in the UK.

Hi Peter, I've had brvo for a couple of years. I do sometimes have blurry vision first thing which clears later. I think it's just the eyes/brain adjusting . I don't worry about it.

This is different though to the grey blurry patch I get when the inj have stopped working. The amsler grid helps you see this deterioration and monitor it. Once I get the grey patch I know it's time to get treatment. I wouldn't be happy leaving it longer than three weeks but I have always recovered from it (even though not permanently yet!).

With hurricane relief is there any type of red cross or military who can help you get to an eye clinic for inj if you explain its to stop blindness?

I had many happy holidays in St Maarten and survived a hurricane my very first trip there. My heart goes out to everyone in the Caribbean xxx
