I have a friend living in Cyprus who has been told by her optician that she has wet AMD. She has not been advised where to go for treatment. Is there anyone living in Cyprus who could recommend Doctors/clinics in Nicosia or Limassol? I don't think there is a NHealth system there. Thanks.

I don't know Cyprus but she would need a specialist eye unit as may well need injections and these must be done by properly experienced staff. She may have to travel for treatment but I think there must be something inCyprus- the optician must know

If wet AMD has been identified, she ideally needs treatment in the form of injection no later than 2 weeks after the optician identified it. I am copying a link to our Guide to AMD and our Treatments booklet:

I hope that this is of some help.
