I'm new here.
I received my first injections a week ago ( my two eyes are sick). The pain is so violent that I can hardly read for a long time nor write.
Did somebody among you, ill people, suffered for such a long time?
Thanks for yours answers.

Hi Dominique,
I am so sorry to learn about your painful injections.
Did the pain occur shortly after the injection?
This is fairly unusual, but it sadly does sometimes occur.
There can be a number of reasons which are detailed in our factsheet at the following link;

I hope that this is of some help.

Hi Dominique
So sorry to hear of your problem. You really should not have any pain in your eyes a week after injections although it sometimes does happen. You should contact the eye clinic where you received the injections. If the pain is really bad go straight to the accident and emergency department. You should not have to suffer like that. Are you in the UK? best wishes and keep in touch with us.
Has this pain worsens over the days? If so I would call the clinic to discuss
or ( just seen Ayayay's post) go to A and E. You need to be alert for possible infection which would be treated very quickly if present
Hi Dominique, I agree with what the others say. My very 1st injection eye pain lasted a long time , days, but it was reaction to the iodine (pain like having sand in your eye and socket hurt too) and very dry eye (which can be because it dried out in clinic or later because eye is watering to get rid of iodine).
My clinic gave me soothing drops which help. Best thing is make sure they rinse eye very well after inj. You have to tell them when you go for next inj how bad pain was last time and insist on extra rinsing. If it doesn't improve they can change iodine to try other antiseptic for you.
Speak to your clinic now though for advice just in case there's a problem. Good luck going forward x
