If you have a sight affecting condition in both of your eyes, you are legally obliged to report this to the DVLA. Please see our information leaflet on driving at the following link;
I doubt that your eye condition would affect your DLA claim if it is for another health condition. Have you actually been 'registered' as partially sighted/sight impaired?
If you have been registered as sight impaired/partially sighted you would not be legally allowed to drive.
There is however a gap between poor vision when you have to stop driving; 6/12 or worse in your better eye; and being registered as sight impaired 6/19 or more in both eyes(although various test are carried out by a hospital ophthalmologist to establish your visual acuity. These would also include visual field test). Good normal vision is 6/6.
Please call the Macular Society 0300 30 30 111 if you would like to discuss further.
I have WARMG in one eye and good sight in the other eye.I notified the DVLA and as long as you have one good eye there is no problem.I also have arthritis in my knees, fortunately,this doesn't affect my driving. Best wishes.
