Hi everyone! I have been needle tested for a swollen lymph node. They told me they didn't find any cancerous cells however they will do a biopsy, U/S guided. Would anyone know why I need to do that?

Thank you!!

YEs, the only way to correctly diagnose lymphoma is through an excisional biopsy. They must remove the node and have it examined by a pathologist. The needle biopsy really doesn't work in this case.

Thank you very much ...it makes sense now...My doctor from Greece told me that that should be done by a haematologist...
