Hi everyone! I have been needle tested for a swollen lymph node. They told me they didn't find any cancerous cells however they will do a biopsy, U/S guided. Would anyone know why I need to do that?
Thank you!!

YEs, the only way to correctly diagnose lymphoma is through an excisional biopsy. They must remove the node and have it examined by a pathologist. The needle biopsy really doesn't work in this case.
To be on the safe side..A biopsy is the right way to go.. Do not worry...
At least they are thorough !!! Can't complain!! It is quite swollen so better be safe than sorry
