I had the autologous transplant in May. IT was not easy but I am now healthy and getting stronger every day. I hope you have a very successful transplant as well. STay strong. KIm
In the fall of 2008 after great difficulty in arriving at a definitive diagnosis, it was finally decided that I would be treated with R-CHOP for Follicular lymphoma.
In early 2012, it was discovered that I also had Aggresive Diffuse Large B Cell lymphoma. In looking back, my oncologist surmised it was present in 2008 along with the Follicular lymphoma hence the difficulty arriving at a definitive diagnosis at that time.
In any event, in the summer of 2012, I underwent an autologous stem cell transplant for the DLBCL. R-MICE and R-BEAM were the chemos used in the transplant process.
In the spring of 2016, the Follicular lymphoma relapsed and I have just completed 6 cycles of R-Bendamustine. The treatment has been successful and I am now back in remission.
From my cancer history, it would appear that in one of my less than lucid moments I signed up for the 4 year cancer plan. I can hardly wait to see what 2020 will bring on the cancer front! <----- a little humour for levity. [Insert smiley face here]
I would highly recommend that those of you with Follicular Lymphoma join the Facebook group, "Living with Follicular Lymphoma", which is a closed group for those living with the disease and their care givers. It is an excellent group that is supportive and informative. The collective knowledge about FL is amazing and all answers are answered quickly.
Yes its good idea thanks I'm on it
