Not sure about your work. But the drug itself does suit me. No drinking while on it. Take it at the same time each day. I take it after dinner each night. I get my bloods done every month. I think you might be able to work with it. It improves your quality of life. good luck with it!

Hi I've been on it for nearly 30 years with one break of about 18 months during that time. I've worked full time since I was 17, which is also when I was diagnosed with lupus and APS. I work for a large bank in a very stressful, full on job in a very large office, with that comes colds and all sorts of infectious ailments. I've rarely caught anything even though azathiaprine lowers your immunity. Hopefully you'll be fine with it (never had any side effects) and it will make you feel better.

Apologies for 'butting in'...but this is exactly the same as me. Everyone at work is sufferring from all of the infectious illnesses that regularly do the rounds in an office environment, and I'm the one with the lower immunity and the only one who doesn't catch it :-) same at home with my husband and children, it's a mystery :-)

hi, im a staff nurse on busy medical ward and as long as you dont have contact with chicken pox, shingles, measles or pneumacoccal illnesses you should be ok. dr prescribing this medication should of given you an alert card, like the steroid card, which has this info on. it is important to have regular blood tests (weekly at 1st then eventually 8 wkly) to make sure you dont become neutrapaenic. oh and if you can have the yearly flu jab. hope that some help to you
