hi angiesky, firstly why is he refering you to a rhumatologist, he is rightly refering you to an ear, nose and throat specialist for the throat problem. secondly what did he say was the cause of your throat closing, thirdly why the brain scan. there are many causes of closing throats ranging from cancers to spasms, obviously they have different treatments and also the problem can be constant or can come and go, sorry to answer a question with more questions, mark
Hi. I too wouild like to know more info. I have choking episodes and chronic coughing, but every doctor I've seen is stumped. I'm convinced it a nerve problem as it happens for no apparent reason. Even sitting quitely can produce a violent cough with spasns in throat and abs. I hope you are able to sort your problem. As for me, I'm seeing an ENT at guys on Tuesday, and the following week I am have physio with a cough specialist. I am convinced all the medics think I am a head case because I've been under a psychiatrist.
