Eye film and Plaquenil?

I keep having the feeling like a film is over my left eye, it doesn't go away when I rub the eye. I had an ophtalmologist checking everything and didn't find anything that cd cause that. I'm wondering whether it could be Plaquenil? My vision is fine, it is just like I am looking through a dirty lens. Any ideas?

i have bilateral bletheritis and its exactly what you are describing. i also believe i have sjorgens as well but dont know how to get a diagnosis.

i get this in both eyes and it really frightens me paticularly in the night time as i think i am going blind. there is no cure for this either.

one bit of relief i get is placing a hot cloth over my eyes for several minure and this really helps to clean the eyes by melting the build up you get. i also have tears that i get from my gp.

when things are really bad i use lid care sterile wipes. they cost £4.99 for 20 wipes. i cut them in two and use half for each eye.

i am not on plaq at the moment but i did find my eyes were a little worse but some people have said the plaq helps.

hope this has been usefull for you.

take care x

not sure what bilateral bletheritis is but I do have sjorgens, this was diagnosed through blood test for arthritis. I have found the dreaded plaq helps. It is useful to use the gel tears all the time even if you think you don't need to.

Thank you, this is very useful! What does your ophtalmologist say about prognosis, though, you mention there is no cure for the blepharitis? That's not good news.

no its when the tear ducts are blocked so i have to clean my eyes myself as a iget a thick greasy film. plus my eyes are dry. as i have lupus i may have sjorgens but never diagnosed it. in fact my rheumy at the time says lupus does not affect your eyes. i think i lost a bit of credibility then tbh!
