I'm new to Health Unlocked but not so new to Lupus - whether that's a good or bad thing I don't know. I suppose, at least, I've had time to come to terms with it.
I was diagnosed aged 14 - so 10 years ago now. It took a little while, as it always seems to, but since then it's been quite up and down. I have my own blog at rachelbeasley.wordpress.com which goes into more detail!
I like things like this which encourage us to talk to other patients because, even though we all have different experiences, it's nice to have someone who understands.
Looking forward to speaking with you all.

Hi Rachael I am new to the blog and diagnosed with sle 2 years ago still trying to deal with this horrible illness, I'm off work just now don't know if I'll manage to get back to it yet.
Hi Lorraine. I always thought I would never be able to hold down a job and get back into 'real life'.
I work pretty much full time now. Sometimes I have to take some time off or I have to take my foot off the accelerator and work from home a little bit but generally people are quite supportive if you're willing to try.
It's always difficult trying to predict what your life is going to be like in the future though.
