I have been on prednisolone for 18 years but I do have a diagnosis of SLE. As regards getting infections when the dose is increased, I have not experienced that myself.

I'm taking low dose steroids, 5mg. My rheumatologist told me i could take them for the rest of my life.

hi - I have a diagnosis of SLE and Im on a low dose of steroids and have been for 17 years, im also on plaquenil, also for 17 years, i cant say ive had a problem with infections in the way you have - when i get them i get them quite severely though - but ive not noticed a correlation with the steroid dosage.
