well after waitin 2 see my consulant after all these weeks about my back, he said there is nothin there its just musle problem wat a joke hey, the pain in my back is there still as bad 2

honestly saw my rheumy last week with all my symptons including same back pain was told that...not sure that it was part of lupus.strange and sad

did ur rheumy give u a xray, mine did and nothin showed up it is a joke my rheumy flew round everybody like 2moro it annoys me so much they dont take time now

Hi I did post you a long message yesterday,but it hasn't come up on the forum so I don't know what happened,so this is a really short version,my daughter has sle and is awaiting more tests as her heart,dermy,neuro and renal consultants all say that they are missing something ,maybe muti system vasculitis,RA ,multiple sclerosis etc,but as far as her back pain goes,she was dxd with degenerative disk disease,osteoarthritis and scoliosis, 6 months before her lupus dx.as she had been trying to get a dx for severe back pain since her mid teens,because she was young nobody wanted to listen,I'd it hadnt been that she asked for opinions from other docs,she may never have been dxd and. susequently recieved injection and meds for the disease.she was recently told by a spine specialist that when the meds stop working the only other treatment is at least 3 spine surgeries.

On a seperate note my son had divert ay 15 for a slipped disk,he to,had seen many docs,there again because he was young and on visible inspection he looked ok,nobody would do anything apart from anti inflammatories,I took him to one of the g.p's in our practice and demanded he be seen again by a consultant,good job. I did,because the slipped disk was discovered and he had emergency surgery.

The moral of my story is,consultants don't always get it right,if you are not happy with the dx for your back pain,ask to be seen by another consultant.

Sorry for rambling a bit,hope you get some resolution.

hi sandy, thanks for the advice i will defo as for a second doc, its been goin now 4 months and its doin my in head , i cant take 2 much pain killers either because it binds me up
