Had recent lupus flare and was treated with Rituximab but it's not working (even tho it did in the past) and my doc has prescribed 60mg steroids/day. Anyone had similar experience?

hello, i am taking.. mycophenalate myfortic.. for nephritis.. it seems to have worked.. but if i wanted to get pregnant i would have to come off it for at least 6 months..

i am guessing your condition should be as stable as possible.. in order to get through a pregnancy..

you should definitely book to see a specialist.. maybe even go and see the guys at st thomas's..

I have Lupus Nephritis and on mycophenolate mofetil and steroids. I was statred on 60mg/day (steroids) and now down to 5mg a day. I was lucky enough to have a child before I was diagnosed so wasnt on any medication but had a good pregnancy until towards the end (37wks) when I developed pre-eclampsia and had to deliver stratight. Everything went well after that and we were both ok. I was only after diagnosis and had to start the medication that the consultants who look after me advised me to have advance palnning if i were to consider having another child.

But like clem said you have to really consultant the specialists in this field or book an appointment to see someone at st thomas and they have a dedicated unit there where they deal with 'lupus and pregnancy' cases.
