Rheumatology nurse appointment cancelled

I was supposed to get a phone call from rheumatology nurse today, but it was cancelled. It was to arrange a blood test for this years Alandronic infusion. I had been hoping to ask her for advice about strange electric shock feeling in the side of my face. I don't know if it's connected to my lupus or not, but I have no upcoming appointments with consultant, so I thought that she may be able to advise me on what to do, so I am very disappointed about the cancellation, but not about the blood test delay as I hate them.

Hi, no my appointment had been cancelled the day before Microsoft went down. Its just frustrating as had been wanting to ask about strange electric shock feelings in my face rather than trying to explain it to the consultant' secretary, as she probably won't understand what I am talking about.

Thank you, going to try again to ring the Consultant's secretary tomorrow to find out when I will be seeing him, as i haven't seen him for a year.

Yes, thank you for asking. The soonest appointment I can get is a phone appointment on 16th August. I know how he will be able to examine me & deal with my other lupus problems, but it's a start. I also have a new appointment with my rheumatology nurse on 22nd August re my Alendronic acid infusion, so i will be pleased to get that over with as well, because I hate injection and blood tests.

Thank you, I always feint if they try more than 3 times, but at the unit where I go for the infusion I have been lucky that they have managed to get it in straight away, so fingers crossed they will again.

Thanks, no not anemic, just soft and have had a phobia of needles, since childhood, but my nephew is having counselling to deal with his phobia of them as he has panic attacks if anyone tries þo go near him with one, wouldn't be so bad but he needs blood tests.

He never minded get injections when he was little, he used to just watch the injections going in, until a nurse in paediatrics twisted his arm behind his mum's back without emla cream and really hurt him, now he is terrifyed. He gets counciling as he needs tests for lupus and arthritis, but it's going to take time like everything else.

His mum made a formal complaint, he's 18 and still remembers it. My nephew thought that hypnotism might work, but trying councilling for now.
